Define The Meaning of "Working"

Kids may have a different perception than parents about working. So the first step that must be done is to sit with them to define the meaning of work. So that children and parents have the same perception about the work process that will be taken.

10 days to Prepare Teenager for Work define the meaning of working
Kids can have a definition of work from their observation of their parents. For example, if the parent is working in a field that demands neat appearance, then they will think that he must have a good look when working. If parents go to work with complaints, they will think that work is an unpleasant thing. But children whose parents are always passionate about working, they will see that working as a pleasant activity. This perception will carry over from childhood to adolescence.
Now, you have understood why defining the meaning of working with teenagers is needed. If during this time the child's understanding of work is an unpleasant activity, then parents must try harder so that teenagers will be happy to learn to work. But if teenagers' perceptions about work are fun, then the task of parents will be easier.
Why should parents teach children to work?
1. Learning about work is a provision for the child's future
2. In learning to work there are a variety of basic attitudes that children must master to survive in the face of adversity
3. In the work there are good characters that are formed, this formation should be done from the beginning with the guidance of good parents.
4. Children can have ideas to meet basic needs for their lives.
These 4 main reasons will be discussed on the 8th day of this series.
Currently, our teenagers learn to work by selling books through online stores. It's not difficult to get him to work, we realize this because my husband and I work according to our passion and live it with enthusiasm and a positive attitude. In addition, before we asked him to work, we had shown him the definition of work, the types of job, and what kind of job he could choose for now at the beginning of his adult life, and later when he was an adult. Both will have differences, especially the reasons for the salary he will receive when compared to the needs he is bearing for his family.
When I offered him to work by opening an online bookstore, he immediately agreed. When the books arrived at our house, he excitedly began to record the book's stock in the database, write the shipping data, arranged the books on the shelves. Then when there was an order he wrapped the books in wrapping paper, wrote the address of the shipment destination, and change the stock status in the database. All that was done voluntarily without being forced. Well... I will tell you more about this in the next post.
