DIY Rose Egg - Easter Egg In My Country

Easter is coming, it always reminded me of childhood. At that time, every year I attended the Easter egg decorating contest. Egg decorating has become a part of the Easter celebrations in Indonesia since years ago. 

 

Different than any other country, in Indonesia egg decorated with paper, ribbons, and beads, and is usually decorated to be people, animal, or plant. 

In one egg decorating contest I attended, I decorate the egg into a rose and won the contest! As a child, I was very pleased! My mother was the one who taught me to decorate Easter eggs into a rose, she is a good teacher! If you want to know how to decorate Easter egg in Indonesia, please follow the step by step below:

Materials:
Egg, boiled
Crepe paper: red, pink, and green
Toilet paper roll
Paper glue

Tools:
Scissor
pencil

Wrap egg with red crepe paper, attached with glue

Cut 8 sheets of pink crepe paper into a rectangle as the picture above, then rolled one corner with a pencil. 

Wrinkle the paper-like picture above by pushing the two sides to the middle. Repeat this step to the other corner of the crepe paper

This is the result!

Attach with glue all the wrinkled papers to the egg as picture above.

This is the result. It is looks so beautiful!

Cut five sheets of green crepe paper as in the picture above, to be the leaves.

Attach with glue four sheets of green crepe paper as in the picture above.

Prepare one toilet paper roll, cut 3 cm in length.

Attach with glue one sheet of leaf to the toilet paper roll, then put the rose egg to the top of the toilet paper roll. Done! The egg turns out to be a beautiful Easter centerpiece.
