Valentine's Day Spaghetti

Valentine's Day is coming! This event is not only celebrated by couples who are in love, but also by families to celebrate love.

From year to year since my son was not a baby anymore, I faced the same problem: what will I serve for the family on Valentine's Day? My son doesn’t like sweet foods, such a cake with cream, cookies with icing, and I’m a diabetic, I can’t eat too much carb and sugar.

This Is What Happened When A Teenager Make Bakpia

When I read about Choctoberfest, first come in my mind is to make Indonesian snack that using chocolate… a lot of chocolate! I thought about some kind of cakes, but cakes are not originally from Indonesia. Friends suggested me to make some kind of snacks, but I can’t make them, I left my tools to make those snacks in my home. As I mention in my earlier post, I live far away from home.
Then a friend suggested me to make: bakpia! Bakpia is actually not original from Indonesia, but Indonesian had been modified bakpia so it’s been said that bakpia is Indonesian snack. Bakpia is a snack that made of flour, filled with chocolate, cheese, mung bean, green tea, or even pork meat!

Cooking With Teenager: Bitterballen With Corned Beef And Edam Cheese Recipe

Bitterballen is one of the most favorite dutch snack. In past time, bitterballen commonly served for the appetizer before the main meal. But this time bitterballen also enjoyed in a variety of outdoor activities such as picnics and various children's party. Usually, bitterballen made with fresh beef and beef stock. But at this recipe, I modified using corned beef, milk, and edam cheese. The result is very delicious! Crunchy outside, tender inside. My son love cheese very much, this recipe is his favorite because of the cheese! He cook it himself!

Cooking With Teenager: Hash Browns

When my teenager was a child, I read a lot of articles that say: inviting children to make food can train their fine motor while having fun! That's very true! Prepare the ingredients, slicing, sorting the beans, weighing the flour, those are some examples of activities that all the kids can do while cooking with the mother, which will eventually produce the delicious food they will enjoy. This kind of lesson will be fun and memorable of having fun with mom.

Cooking With Teenager: Raisins Bread

It’s been two years we lived in this coastal remote area, there is one daily necessity we didn’t get: bread! In our home town, the bread seller came through the front of our house every morning, we only have to call them and then we've got bread for breakfast. Nowadays, there is not a single store here that regularly sells bread, some shops do sell bread they get from the town, but the bread is contains many preservatives, it is not good for our health.
Baking our own bread is the only choice. But without bread maker tools, the process will be very tiring. Bread mixer and bread maker are two tools that we can use. But I choose bread maker rather than the mixer.
